John A. Marshall, recently retired as the Deputy Director, National System for Geospatial Intelligence (NSG) Program Management Office (PMO), Information Technology Services Directorate (T), performs strategic oversight for the overall NSG acquisition program, ensuring that information technology services which satisfy mission needs of the geospatial intelligence (GEOINT) community are within established cost, schedule, and performance parameters. As DD/NSG PMO, Mr. Marshall is responsible for developing and executing the T strategy; providing direction and feedback to those T organizations responsible for designing, building, validating and operating systems and services; and ensuring the NSG platform meets the mission needs of the GEOINT community. He brings NGA more than 37 years of information systems experience in the intelligence community.

Prior to NGA, Mr. Marshall was the senior information systems technologist for Joint Staff Intelligence Directorate (J2), Joint Chiefs of Staff, since August 2011. He was responsible for the intelligence information technology new initiatives supporting U.S. joint and coalition war fighting and military force planners. He oversaw cutting edge technology capabilities associated with the Defense Intelligence Enterprise, experimentation and concept development, integration, and interoperability for the national intelligence systems and development of new technologies. He represented the command on several ISR task force working groups in support of the Secretary of Defense and the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence.

Mr. Marshall is a senior information technologist member within various forums and boards with the defense and intelligence communities that include Department of Defense (DoD) Intelligence Information System, Defense Intelligence Information Enterprise, Distributed Common Ground Surface/System, and Joint Intelligence Operations Center. Currently, he leads all technical requirements for intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities and information technology integration and interoperability within the Joint Chiefs of Staff and various elements within the DD community.

Previously, Mr. Marshall served as the Chief Technology Officer, at United States Joint Forces Command (USJFCOM) leading future intelligence systems capabilities in support of joint, training, integration, model and simulations, advanced visualization, and interoperability of national intelligence systems. He co-chaired the Joint Intelligence Interoperability Board with Joint Staff J2 during his eight-year tenure at USJFCOM. As department head of Enterprise Systems at the Office of Naval Intelligence, he also served as the Navy Intelligence deputy program manager for the DoD Intelligence System Disaster Recovery Program, where he initiated and led a groundbreaking business continuance program that became the model for other federal agencies. He has led various wide-area persistence surveillance and full motion video next generation technologies that have been fielded in today's fight.
